Practice policies
Text messaging (SMS) policy
TALK Speech & Language Therapy ("TALK," "we") uses text messaging to make scheduling easy for busy families. This page explains exactly what we send, how you consent, and how to stop, in plain language.
What we text you about
Messages from TALK are conversational and administrative: appointment reminders and confirmations, scheduling changes and cancellations, arrival and pickup coordination, billing and paperwork notices, and replies to questions you text us. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
How you opt in
You opt in to text messages from TALK on our intake paperwork: by providing your mobile number and checking the text-message consent box when your family joins the practice. Consent to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of receiving care. Leave the box unchecked and we’ll call or email instead. You can withdraw consent at any time (see below).
Frequency, rates & carriers
- · Message frequency varies with your family’s schedule: typically a few messages per week around scheduled sessions.
- · Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
- · Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to opt out, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time (STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT all work). You’ll receive one final message confirming your opt-out, and nothing further. Opting back in is as simple as texting START or telling us you’d like texts again.
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us directly at 770-302-6902 or therapy@talkatlanta.info.
Your number stays with us
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and your text-messaging opt-in consent are never sold, rented, shared, or transferred to any third party. Consent you give TALK applies to TALK alone. We use a secure messaging provider (Twilio) solely to deliver our own messages to you.
A note on privacy: text messaging is convenient but not a secure medium. We keep texts to scheduling and logistics. If you prefer we never reference your child’s care in a text, even indirectly, tell us once and we’ll honor it.
